In the United States for those areas that currently observe Daylight Savings Time, our clocks will be set back an hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, October 29. For the sake of this question, assume that a speeding ticket is issued at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 29. If another ticket is issued an hour later, at a time that would also be 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, how would the two times be differentiated?

i thought this was initially BS -- this is essentially what the scientists in the late 1800s and early 1900s were thinking until quantum mechanics and relativity were discovered. but do you think humans are done discovering absolutely new things about the universe? are we in the so-called "fine tuning" stage, where we will just build upon the basic discoveries already known? more and more i'm starting to think that we're done finding out new things and we're just going to perfect what we know.

string theory, m-theory and all that other stuff i consider to be just "perfecting" current theories. sure there are a lot of mathematical theorems to be proven as well, but those don't necessarily reveal any insight into the basic workings of the universe. sure, we have to figure out the brain, but that's not what i consider "basic". anyway...what do you think.

Any advice from people who have been in similar such situations before would be greatly appreciated, expecially those who have already graduated from University.
For some reason, and this has been the case since I was very young, I always seem to become very nervous during math/physics exams and end up doing a lot worse then I know I could. Despite ample studying and a soild understand of the material (as is evidenced by extremely high grades on assignments) I still blank out on exams. Does anyone know of any way to overcome this problem?
As a side question, to those out there who may be teachers, what is the the true purpose of exams? Are they really an accurate judge of a persons abilities, or more a test of how fast they work/how well they deal with stress?
Thanks a lot.

Why is it that I have so much static in my hair and clothes in the winter? When I brush my hair I can hear it popping and my hair sticks up all over. When I touch metal I get shocked, regardless if I touch it through my clothes or not. This is very annoying and I would like to know why this happens to me, what causes it and what can I do to suppress it. Walk around in a freaking dryer sheet?? LOL

Given the scientific enlightenment of our age, can anyone conceivably still believe in ghosts without thinking that it's merely a lot of superstition?

They don't seem to be aggresive towards adults.. there are reports of them attacking children.. and they kill wildlife, and pets. To be fair, we just keep building out into their territory.. new subdivisions pop up daily across North America.. but there must be a way we can live together, and not have a mass hunt, or cull. No harm the animals whatsoever.
