I think I know that hot air is lighter, but why does it rise?
Another question is why do stones sink?
Is it the same sort of thing like that is the cold air?
Please help me!

As a vertebrate paleontology student, I'm just curious as to how that is explained. I'm not trying to stir up any controversy or to hurt feelings, I just want a straight answer from the Creationists.
I find it tough to argue with fossil evidence.

I'm so scared because last year halfway through the year i moved to San Diego California and either they hated me (except my friends and like 5 other people) or they didn't know me and their friends hated me so now THEY hate me and i don't know how to get along with people. i don't get why they hate me i'm a nice person and also because of the move i don't know the things we learn because last year in my math class they were still learning stuff i learned in 5th grade (a year before last year) and in science at my new school they were learning earth science and i had been learning something like totally different (it was what they learn in 8th grade here). Do you know about the meteor that hit an area in Tunguska Russia in 1909, that destroyed all the vegetation in the area? I never heard about it until recently. You can e-mail me at genjc47@yahoo.com to hear more.

I personally would like it to be a simple one, but even if it isn't, imagine the benefits that would result...

Opinions, ideas, insults?

A new bacterium has been secretely engineered and released by aerosal (spray) into the populated of a large metropolitan city as part of a terroist scheme. This bacterium produces a lethal neurotoxin; several horrific enzymes; grows rapidly; and has a capsule. After several days, no unusual illnesses have been reported and the terroists scheme failed. What factors could the bioengineers have overlooked?

I'm not looking for the Creation perspective here, but I am looking for something coherent.

If possible, I'd like whatever proof is given to still be valid. If nobody can nail down a particular year, then a decade, or even a specific quarter-century would be helpful.

I need this for a discussion with my brother.

Thanks.

Is there a limit to what we can invent, it seems like there's something new out everyday.

I am interested on what answers I will get. Here are a few ground rules:

1.NO breaking the laws of physics, this includes inventions that can break these laws.
2.NO superpowers, this is closely linked to the first rule.
3.NO insults to other answerers, there is no such thing as a dumb answer here!
4.NO flux capacitors and food-processor fusion reactors (you will understand if you watch "Back to the Future) or any other type of sci-fi technology unless it has a logical explanation.
5.Be creative as you can! Just make sure that you don't conflict with any of the rules or laws of physics.
6.You can side with me too if you want, and prove that it is impossible.
7.Bounus:
If you can imagine a LOGICAL invention, and explain how it works, you may get a bonus.

I will update this later with more bonus opportunities, etc. Have fun!

We were having a bbq at my sisters in Enfield on the A10 GT Cambrige road. it was a very clear and warm night and we were all sitting outside and we (about 10 of us) saw 3 strange lights in the sky that formed a triangle, they were orange in colour and came to a comlete stop. then three other lights approached from the east which were moving towards the triangle shape and just stopped in the triangle and went stright up and all disappeared. this happened at about 9.40pm on 6/8/06. There was no sound coming from these lights and were not planes or hot air balloons. some of the kids tried to record it on their mobile phones but it didn't work, we called sky news but they didn't believe us. Did anyone living in that area see anything at that time?

I know....I'm probably insane, but I thought that I would give it a shot.
I know I've heard of stationary bikes that can do it...however, to me that is useless...I'd like to actually be going somewhere and generating the electricity too.... I cant seem to find this answer anywhere on the internet.

so for all of us nerds out there...is it possible to generate power to charge a 12 volt battery from a MOVING bicycle?
