Asteroids, Nuclear Wars, even (though extremely remote) Black Holes?! There are so many factors that in the end could decide the fate of human civilization! The only reason that we, as a race, are here in front of our keyboards today is since we were lucky. There were many plagues, epidemics, and other disasters that had the potential to end Human civilization, but Nature decided it wasn't our time. How do we know we'll be so lucky in the future?

I mean to say, remember the Black Plague that swept through Europe? It wiped MILLIONS of people; men, women, and children.
One asteroid alone ended the dominant species of their time, the dinosaurs, so who's to say that couldn't happen to us. As the dominant species of this earth, WE are the ones at greatest risk.

My question to you all, what can WE, as a people, do to prevent such a calamity?

I realize it is an issue of religion for some but
A) Why can't science and religion mix?
and
B) Why can't religious individuals at least acknowledge it as a theory without criticizing it as a huge scandal?

Law of conservation of mass and energy states that matter is just transformed into a different form but the resulting mass and energy remains constant. With the world population increase, does earth weigh the same as before, but of course not including the entry of some cosmic matters like meteors and comets. If it is equal, what are we then? The possibility of mass due to Dinosaurs is with us that's why mankind is so savage that survival of the fittest is still the norm?

I mean if they have no established "translation" between them. I guess that you would use objects and just refer to things in that way(like holding up a pair of jeans or something) until you came up with a common language.
I guess it would be on some levels like a baby learning to speak for the first time.
