The next step would be the disappearance of our little toes. Then our pinkies. Eventually, we will look like Fred Flintstone.

If at all very slowly asuuming the enviroment we have built around us stays much the same. You see there is no pressure in our enviroment. Japanese in the areas of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are much more tolerant to radiation. They may live longer if they relocated as a result.
I think the pressure is on in our internal mental/spiritual enviroment. There fore I think evolution will occur on those levels. We will have the same brain but a further explored and optimised one. Who knows what we will do then? Perhaps things we use now will become second nature or implants. Will we develop telepathy or implant a mobile phone? When the phone fails will we find our brain has figured this out and telepathy begins? Or are some of our technology inhibiting this sort of development.?
Then there is our ethics/morals/ empathy will we be more civilised or less?

Your question would not look to manage evolution. you're in basic terms asking approximately mutations because of the fact which you could by no ability guess the way forward for evolution of a species except you administration each variable in its environment. What I mean is evolution is the buildup of traits that help a individual stay alive mutually as those that lack those traits are eradicated. this sort a species differences or extremely evolves in scientific experience. If we've an theory with regard to the way forward for our planet, case in point, if we knew for specific that temperatures will decrease by ability of 20 ranges, then we could guess with regard to the human evolution. for this reason, human species could be extra bushy, in actuality bushy. Even this might take place at a remarkably slow cost. in maximum situations, we could purely speculate approximately human evolution from some perspectives. that's obtainable that interior the destiny, human beings could have the potential to outlive at an air of low high quality with extra pollutants/carbondioxide. there is not any assure, even nonetheless. till all of us understand the variables, we can by no ability have the potential to guess the subsequent step in human evolution. regardless of if we guessed it, what solid might that's to us. it is going to take over a era that's hundreds situations our existence span. i did no longer see that episode of Heroes, yet a individual would not evolve, species evolves.

necessity. when something comes along that forces humans to adapt, in order to survive as a species, they will either adapt, or disappear.
according to Terrence Mckenna's "I'ching Fractal Timewave" theory, the human race is scheduled for a massive evolutionary paradigm shift which reaches it's apex on dec 22 2012 (like the mayan calendar). the timewave that he bases this assumption on was produced by applying a mandelbrot fractal equation to a certain series of hexagrams from the I'ching. this sh*t is insanely interesting, whether you find it plausible or not (you have to open up the old brain a little).

I can't tell if you meant mystery or misery. Maybe you meant to coin a new, combined word. It could certainly fit.
Evolution is currently being stymied by modern medicine and technology. We are changing our world rather than letting the world change us. It will take a major event to let evolution work again.

We will de-volve into lizard brained creatures that only know how to punch buttons on a PS2.
But seriously. We have not evolved since the dawn of recorded history. I see no reason to believe that we will ever evolve into anything more than what we are.

No one will be able to predict what will happen next.
In my opinion since the humans are getting so powerful and control almost everything in the world except nature. ( somewhat)
SO I think in order the evolution to move forward we will be destroyed. Same thing will happen to us that happened to dinosaurs. After that the evolution will take a new turn.

Man will evolve in two separate groups: one will grow a permanent neck tie; the other will grow a hammer instead of a hand. The two will evolve and grow to hate each other. Who will win that war?
