Bigfoot probably lives in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California/Nevada. A "giant man" was found dead between 1850-1900. No one had ever spotted this "new species" before. This would give a plausible explanation for the reason why Bigfoot has never been found alive because in order for it to survive in those mountains during the gold rush, he would have to be nocturnal and incredibly astute.
