I am looking into being a mortician, preferrably an embalmer versus doing funeral services. I looked it up, yet i am still confused as to where to begin, who to talk to about it first, and how long do i need to go to school for. Has anyone else done this? If so, is it hard? I have no problem with seeing and working with dead people, because my job requires me to do post-mortem blood draws, in which i stick a needle all the way down their chest cavity into their heart for blood. Would this be considered extra background credit as well? Thanks a bunch!

How does one compute going from Volts, Watts and Amps to Calories? Is there a way to say that I used 500 calories (kcal) on my treadmill at the health club and if I could have applied it magically, it would have run two loads of laundry through my washer/dryer (or something similar)?

The best source of energy I know is the Sun. Desert is the greatest place to build sun energy power plants. But I have in mind quite modificated idea. It would be smaller power plant with factory of glass, salt into drinking water distiller, mill for example to prepar sand for glass production. Options selectiveable. The main idea is to use HUGE GLASS LENS (or few positioned to work like one) to concentrate suns rays to recive high temperature and use it to produce energy from Sun or/and glass from sand. Mechanical energy by worming water like in steam engine and electrical by adding dynamo. All device should be in close room like in atomic power plant. Energy is the basic economy need, salty sea water can be changed into drinking water ( more precious than gold for me), sand can be melt into bulding material I like because of many reasons. I live in Southeast Michigan and when Im driving down Hines Drive, I see very large spider-like webs (anywhere from 1-3 feet long and tunnel-like) at the ends of tree branches. What are they? And what the heck kind of spider lives in there?

My grandmother put two "blue boy" type automatic toilet cleaners in her toilet, and she says after two hours the color fades. She wants the water to stay blue. Any suggestions? The reason why I think it is not working is because when the toilet is flushed, the water level goes below the toilet cleaner and then slowly rises up back over the toilet cleaner(s) where the blue dye slowly leaks out of the toilet cleaner. My question is why doesn't the water stay blue in the toilet bowl? These are new cleaners.

In my previous answer, I was told that lb is used for pounds because of the Latin word Librum. Now my question is, why is lbs. then written for the plural "pounds". From what I know about the English language (and therefore the Latin language), shouldn't the plural be something like "libra"? Why is there an "s" put at the end?

If librum is in Latin, then why is lbs. for more than one pounds?
