I'm specifically talking about the 'elite' and/or 'majority' of humans. Thank you!

I don't know about the elite, but some bionic's is going to come soon as people repair knees, legs, arms, eyes, etc. Will the majority of humans become that way, I don't know, cannot see that far into the future. But then if the Borg arrive we all will be.

The not-to-distant future has come and gone.

They have bionic eyes for people who lost their sight from an accident. Bionic ears for those who have become deaf. Limbs for those that lost arms/legs or needed replacement bones/tendons/blood vessels in their body. Artifical hearts that replace the entire heart (not just some of it anymore)
Exoskeleton suit developed in Japan that assists in lifting of very heavy objects.
