Can it be a good idea for an ecological production of energy in the desert enviroment?

The best source of energy I know is the Sun. Desert is the greatest place to build sun energy power plants. But I have in mind quite modificated idea. It would be smaller power plant with factory of glass, salt into drinking water distiller, mill for example to prepar sand for glass production. Options selectiveable. The main idea is to use HUGE GLASS LENS (or few positioned to work like one) to concentrate suns rays to recive high temperature and use it to produce energy from Sun or/and glass from sand. Mechanical energy by worming water like in steam engine and electrical by adding dynamo. All device should be in close room like in atomic power plant. Energy is the basic economy need, salty sea water can be changed into drinking water ( more precious than gold for me), sand can be melt into bulding material I like because of many reasons. I want to finish off reasons for greed and lack of trust and cooperation among whole countries and nations of my mother planet Earth. In the name of her safety and wish to prevent mistake by changing her surface to kill us all. I would be happy to hear that one day in close future whole human race will use sun energy and other safe energy sources. Military strategy of U.N and U.S. is giving me evidence they want rather to fight like their enemies – terrorists and other radical organisations than give a hand to poore countries and nations (despite if they are democratic or not) to develpe their economy to selfsufficient status and make them economy co-partner and finish off reasons for hatred and terrorism.. I want to share my ideas no matter who and how someone will earn money on it. However I am beging to that someone to use it for good, to share, lover unemployment, stop hatred, stop desert growth, protect enviroment, unite people and their power in this posible achievement.

There are, already, working power plants in some of the deserts in the US.

The materials and process is still expensive, and inefficient, at this stage, but the work is still just beginning.
