Explain as to why a constant wind causes the time of a round trip of an air plane to increase versus no wind? Give an example and calculate the round trip time with and without a constant wind. Do not discuss the physics of wind resistance. Rather discuss the mathematics of the round trip time and average speed of the plane with and without the wind.
A similar example is dollar cost averaging of buying stock. Dollar cost averaging of buying stock is to buy stock at periodic intervals by investing the same amount at each interval. For example, you invest $500 a month for 4 months for a total of $2000. If the stock price prices for the 4 months are $10/shr, $12/shr, $8/shr, and $10/shr, how many shares would you buy? How many shares would you buy if the average cost were $10/shr? How is this similar to the average speed of the round trip plane flight with a constant wind in a single direction?
