OK, so a person jumps off from a 10-meter springboard...h in meters and t in seconds, after the diver leaves the board her height above the water is given by
-4.9t^2+8t+10

F(x)=-4.9(t+.8)^2+13.1....vertex form

BUT

How long does it take the diver to reach the water

At what time is the diver EXACTLY 11m above the water

For how long is the diver 11m above the water

PLEASE try to use a graphing calculator and show the strokes because I don't know how to do these...and include ur answers so I can double check...

THANKS!!!

The 120 seats on an Alaska Airlines flight were completely booked, with each of the 120 passengers having different assigned seats. The passengers entered the plane one-by-one. Unfortunately, the first passenger, Joe Isclumsy, couldn't read his boarding pass because he spilled coffee on it and sat in a (uniformly) random seat. Each subsequent passenger sat in their assigned seat if it was available when they entered and sat in a (uniformly) random empty seat otherwise. What is the probability that the last passenger sat in their assigned seat?

Still working on this darn paper....

I was given these numbers and ask to find the nth term.

6 8 12 18 26 36 48 62

Somehow I came up with this function:

x^2 - x + 6

She marked it as correct but now that I am trying to put the entire paper together I just can't seem to get it to workout.
Is this correct or have I totally screwed up?

Thanks!

Consider x = h(y,z) as a parametrized surface Φ(y,z) in the natural way. Write the equation of the tangent plane to the surface at the point (2, 2, 0) [with the coefficient of x being 1] given that
∂h/∂y(2,0) = -5 and ∂h/∂z (2,0) = 0.

_____________ = 0

Any help would be great! Answer and explanation of the steps to the answer. Thanks

Find an equation of the tangent plane to the parametric surface
x = 4rcosθ, y = -5rsinθ, z = r, at the point (4sqrt(2), -5sqrt(2), 2 when r = 2, θ = pi/2.

z = __________

Note: Your answer should be an expression of x and y; e.g. "3x - 4y"

Stuck... hope you can show me the answer and the steps how you got there.

Thanks
