I have no idea how to do this one...i found a similar one where the distance was 15mph and the top speed was the same and the ans was 3 and 1/3

anyways heres the question
A motorboat goes 18 miles downstream at its top speed and then turns around and returns 18 miles upstream at top speed. The trip upstream took twice as long as the trip downstream. If the boat's top speed is 10 mph in still water, how fast is the current? (Hint: If the current speed is r miles per hour, then the motorboat travels at (10 + r) mph downstream and at (10 - r) mph upstream.)

Express your answer as a decimal rounded to the nearest hundredth.

The equation of motion of a particle, where s is in meters and t is in seconds, is given by the equation below.
s = 7 t 3 - 9 t
(a) Find the velocity and acceleration as functions of t.
v(t) 21t^2-9
a(t) 42t

acceleration at t 3
126m/s

what is the acceleration when velocity is at 0?
is this zerp as well? or how would I get this?

let f(x)=Ax + (B/x^2) where A and B are constants. Find values for A and B so that the line y=2x+1 is tangent to y=f(x) when x=-1.

I'm doing a practice exam for our first Calc 1 test, and question 7 part b) asks: Find f'(x) of y=(x^5 + 4x^3 - x)^6. I know the formula for f'(x) is lim(h->0) [f(x+h)-f(x)]/h, and I can do this problem the traditional way but it would take FOREVER to take all of those x+h's to the different powers, then find the entire f(x+h) to the sixth power and f(x) to the sixth...

Given that this is just a part of one question.. and part a) was easy.. and the test has to be completed within an hour, there must be some exponential rules that allow this to be done much more quickly. Can anyone help?

Even if I use more zeros, so that 6 9/16 equals 6.5625 and then convert, I end up with, 6 45/8. Can this just not be done so that it will convert back out as 6 9/16 or I am just doing something wrong? Thanks.

Differentiate the following:
1) ln(1/x)
2) sin4x^3
3) cos^2(x^3)
4) tan^2(xe^x)
5) ln(sin^3(x^4))

6) If x and y lie on the ellipse x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1, show that the slope at any point is given by dy/dx = -(b/a)^2(x/y)

Thank you if anyone helps me! :) x
