I need to evaluate the following indefinite integral:

x(x^2+3)^(1/2)

I first thought of trying integration by parts, but I think I'm supposed to use substitution. However, all my examples have a definite integral. So what do I do?

What kind of problem is this? And where is the best place to learn how to do them?
x+3/6 = 3/8+x-5/4
Thats x plus 3 over 6 (x+3 not just 3/6) equals 3over8 plus x negative 5 over 4

I have agreed to tutor two children in math - they'll be in 3rd & 7th grade, and have been in alternative schooling for 3 years and are far behind. What topics do kids that age do now in math? When do they do multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, pre-algebra, etc. Any input will be much appreciated. I have experience teaching math but have no idea what each grade does, and want to help these kids as much as possible.

For the next problems you will need to come up with an equation for the quantity you are trying to minimize in terms of a single independent variable. then i would like you to graph the function on your calculator and use the "calculate minimum" capability of the calculator to find the answer.

1)A solid is formed by adjoining two hemispheres to the ends of a right circular cylinder. The total volume of the solid is 12 cubic centimeters. find radius of cylinder that produces the minimum surface area.
2) An industrial tank of the same shape in (1) must have a volume of 3000 cubic feet. The hemispherical ends cost twice as much per square foot of surface area as the sides. Find the dimensions that will minimize cost.
