(since calculators is related to maths, im posting it here)

i think this is one of the stupidest question ever posted

but im just wondering, why does almost everyone in the world press the "C" or "AC" which is the clear or all clear ( i think ) button of a calculator repeatedly after a calculator before going onto the next one??

i mean why do they spam the clear button like as though it were a ps controller button, haha

if calculators had games in them, then it wouldnt be strange, but sadly they dont.

so why?

What does the second derivative of a function represent relative to the first derivative? Explain.

This is the last question on my homework and it has me flummoxed!
If Im correct the first derivative represents the rate of change of y relative to x. So does that mean the second derivative represents the rate of change of the rate of change (aka the acceleration of change?) Please use F(x)=x^2 and help me out! :'(

Given that x is sufficiently small for x^3 and higher powers of x to be neglected and higher powers of x to be neglected, and that
cos x - 4 sin x = 6x,
show that a quadratic equation for x is
x^2 + 20x - 2 = 0.
Hence find an approximate value for x, giving your answer correct to 3 significant figures.

could someone explain the steps to me on how to find the slope of its line (on a graph) from these substituted equations?

-6 = 3X + Y
10 = -5X - Y

-6 = 3X + Y
-6 - 3X = Y
-5X +6 +3X = 10
-2X +6 = 10
-2X = 4
X = -2
Y= 0
