The population contains 5 samples for which only the sample means and standard deviations are known (individual observations are not known):
Sample, Mean, Std Dev
1, 20.5, 2.5
2, 18.2, 2.4
3, 23.4, 3.8
4, 20.8, 3.2
5, 19.6, 1.9

How would I calculate the standard error of the overall mean in order to develop a 95% confidence interval?

I have 'Elementary Algebra' and it shows how to do most of the problems but they are throwing in some problems they don't explain. I am wasting too many points asking question on yahoo every 5 minutes. I have tried webmath.com, but I don't know what many symbols and things are called so I can't look it up. Maybe a book for idiots, cause' obviously, I am a total idiot to forget all the algebra I took in high school and college.

A three-digit number is converted to a six-digit number by writing the digits again next to it.
For example, the number 235 is converted to 235235.
Why is it that the new number can always be divided by 7?
