Would this be a postive number or a negative?

This is really like (4/1)(-3/2)

4*-3/1*2= -12/2

Divide -12/2 = -6

The answer would be -6.
Since -3/2 is in parenthesis you would have to divide that first to get -1.5, then multiply that by 4 to get -6. Negatives can be confusing so just remember that two negatives make a positive, one negative and one positive make a negative, and two positives make a positive.

positive multiplyed or divided by a negative is always negative so the anwser is -12/2 simplified -6
