I have solved this equation and my result is q=e*C(1-exp(t/RC))
However, the books gives q=e*C(1-exp(-t/RC))
What's wrong with my result???

7e^x - e^2x = 12

I end up with no solution because x = ln[12 / (7-e^2)] which evaluates to the ln of a negative number, which is undefined.
Not 100% sure I did it right, though.

Hey everyone! I really need some help here. I've been working on it all this week now and I can't seem to get an answer. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

****I have added a link to the sketch of the problem for the visualization here:

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a197/arminvanbuuren/feedlotproblem.gif

There's a feedlot 200 feet long with a water trough along one edge and a feed bin located on an adjacent angle. A cow enters the gate at point A (90 vertical feet from the water trough). She walks straight to point P, gets a drink from the trough, and then walks straight to the feed bin at point B (60 vertical feed from the water trough). If the cow knew calculus, what point P along the water trough would she select to minizmize the total distance she walks?

The average weight for a group of 20 women is 130 pounds. If the average weight for 3/4 of these women was 140 pounds, what was the average weight, in pounds, for the rest of the women?

I figured out the answer by just thinking about it but would like to know how to set up a formula/problem to solve for x. I'm a little rusty with my algebra. Thanks.

I accidentally stumbled upon an apparent trigonometric relationship.

cos(20°) = cos(40°) + cos(80°)

Please prove or disprove the equation. I’m not looking for someone to just type it into their calculator. I already know that it seems to be true but the proof is elusive.

is this right
((sinθ)(secθ))/(tanθ)
sinθ*(1/cosθ)/(sinθ/cosθ)
the sin and cos cross out and you are left with 1
