I know the answer is cosine, but WHY?

OHHH ok. So pi is out of the range of cosine. The other trig ratios have ranges that include pi. k thanks.

The maximum absolute value of cosine is 1. In a triangle, this implies that one side of triangle approaches the length of the hypotenuse. However, the angle between them approaches zero.

360 degrees = 2 pi radians
pi can be used to give degrees in radians.
