I have a question about a series. The first four terms are:

(3)/(1*2) - (5)/(2*3) + (7)/(3*4) - (9)/(4*5) + ......

I've been trying to figure this one out for a while now. What value does this series converge to? I know what the answer is, but I would like to know a way of solving this with out using a calculator.

I'm a 7th grader in Algebra 1 and it's hard for me. Most of my friends are in Pre-Algebra. Anyways, we went over set-builder notation in class yesterday. Although the 1 1/2 hour lesson of inequalities was boring, I really tried to listen. What is set-builder notation, and how do you use it?

What are some basic ways I can improve my math skills without doing a ton of extra problems? (Like crossword puzzles improve lingual skills, what's the math version of that?) I'd really like an easy, fun way to do so. Thanks!

The probability of success is .15 for each trial. (a) What is the probability of success after 3 trials. (b) How many attempts should realistically be made to ensure success.

(a) I'm thinking p=.15 and q=.85
p(X=3)=(.85)^3 * .15 =.092

(b) E(X) = 1/p = 1/.15 = 7

The numbers don't seem to check out! Help (with explanation) will be appreciated! Thanks!
