Not only will I show you the properties I use, I will also, separately, show you the stuff.

We are trying to simplify an expression. We are not trying to simplify a problem.

First we clear the parentheses, by multiplying everything inside by 3. We get

7x - 12 + 6x

Notice the positive 6x, because -3 times -2x is positive.

Then we're done:

13x - 12

Now for the stuff: People like Dr. J., who like to make jokes, should make sure they get their math right. BILL incorrectly thinks we have an equation. We do not have an equation. We have an expression. And locomonohijo somehow lost the minus sign off of the 12. Ignore all of them.

7x-3(4-2x)
7x+-3(4+-2x)-Defination of subtraction, add the opposite, adding th eopposite of a number is the same as subtracting a number.
7x+-12+6x- The distibutive property. a(b+c)=ab+ac
7x+6x+12- The commutitive property of addition, the order of the numbers in an addition problem does not matter, a+b=b+a
13x+12-Add like terms, the 7x and the 6x.

Your simplified form is 13x+12

first you use the property of multiplication for the term 3(4-2x) which will give you

12-6x.

then you can use subtraction to simplify:

7x-(12-6x)=>7x-12+6x

collect like terms

7x-6x+12=>x+12

if you are solving x+12=0, then

x=-12

Multiply -3 by 4 and -2x. Distributive Property. Then you have 7x-12+6x. Then combine like terms(the x's) and you get 13x-12. If this is set equal to 0, you could add 12 to both sides and get 13x=12. Then divide both sides by 13 to get x=12/13.

This is called the distributive property

(7x-3)(4-2x)

multiply 7x to 4 and -2x.
then multiply -3 to 4 and -2x
you get

-14xsquared+34x-12

First you want to distribute:
7x-3(4-2x)= 7x-12+6x (negative and negative is positive)

Then combine like terms:
7x-12+6x= 13x-12

Then you have oyur answer:
13x- 12

You should go into ballet, leave math and never look back.

7x - 3*4 - 3 * 2x
7x - 6x - 12
x -12

Since 4-2x is in parantheses, it is done first.

7*x-3*4-2*x
7*x-3*2*x
7*x-6*x

I don't know if that's correct or not,sorry.

7x(4-2x) -3(4-2x)
28x-14xsquared-12+6x
34x-14xsquared-12
I hope...
