what is the greatest common factor of 15, 18 & 24

15= 3*5
18= 2*3*3
24= 2*2*2*3
= 3
why?
because u look for the number that comes all the time in the three numbers.

the greatest common factor is 3.

15/3=5

There is no number higher that can divide into all these numbers and the answer should have no remainder.

Don't feel badly, it is a matter of trial and error unless you are familiar with the times tables. 3 is the only number that works with the 3 numbers you gave.
