I am not a mathematician but a need, for a document, a standard mathematical notation or symbology for:

a)A very very big known number, like a Google Plex
b)A ver very big unknown number, e.g. no yet determined but bigger

A Latex symbol or notation would be fine. In fact any help or link would be highly appreciated.

3. Simplify: 9 – 2[7 – 17] ÷ (-5)

Which one:

9-2(-10) ÷ (-5)
9-2(-10) ÷ (5-5)
9+20 ÷ (-5) <-- add first?
29 ÷ (-5)
= 29/5 or 5 4/5

OR:

9 – 2[7 – 17] ÷ (-5)
= 9 – 2[-10] ÷ (-5)
= 9 + 20 ÷ (-5)
= 9 – 4
= 5

What I mean is, for the same values of X give the same values of Y, where both parts of the formula B are non trivial? I guess it is formerly impossible for them to be identical, but can they be similar, say within 1% over what range of values? I have two regression curves, one from A and one from B. They both appear to fit the data equally well.

What is the minumum number of lines which you can draw (without raising your pen from the paper) and manage to unite the all 9 points described as below? (the "star" sign represent the points and I "draw" some imaginary "lines" between them...). And another thing, the lines must be "straight" lines (as geometry defines them...not "curves"...).

I answered a question about interest, did in my head, and then just simple math on the calculator this a.m.(I haven't even had my morning coffee and the left side of my brain hurts when I do math)
The question was basically "How much interest do you need to earn in 5 years to turn $10,200 into $15,000 compounded annually. I guestimated over 9% and just simple calculator shows a return of $4845 at 9.5% but there are two answers that specifically stated the rate to be 8.0185187%. How did they arrive at this figure? And why can't I remember how to use the calculator to calculate this? I've really neglected the left side of my brain but there is over 1% discrepancy. Help, please. Thanks. And you can view the question in my posts, near the top of the answers.
