3 men went to a hotel to rent a room, the cost of the room was $30. Each man paid $10 to the bellboy and proceeded to there room. After a little while the bellboy realized that there was a special on rooms that night and the price for the mens room should have been $25. On his way to the mens room to give them back $5 he was puzzled how he was going to split $5 as he had no change. He decided he would give them each $1 and keep the remaining $2 for himself. So each man originally paid $10, but after the bellboy gave each man $1 back, each man paid $9. 9 x 3 = $27 plus the $2 the bellboy put in his pocket equals $29. The original price for the room was $30. Where did the last dollar go?

Here i have two question that i do not understand about the questions:
1) A yacht sails 15 km on a bearing 248° followed by 17 km on a bearing 297°. Calculate the distance (in km to the nearest 0.1 km) and bearing (to the nearest degree) of the yacht's final position from its initial position.

2) A particle has an initial position vector of (-7 i + 15 j) m with respect to an origin O. If the particle moves with a constant velocity of (5 i - 8 j) m/s, what will be its position vector after 14 seconds?

If can give the details to show the solution for each question. Thanks.

two types of air-coolers - Super and Deluxe--are made by company ABC...super was introduced in the market in 1996. Due to some defects,one-fourth of the Super air-coolers bought in any year are disposed off as junk after exactly two years from purchase. deluxe air-coolers were introduced in the market in 2002, after retifying these dfects , but still 20% of them had to be disposed off as junk after two years from purchase . the following figures show the number of Super and Deluxe air-coolers in use in the market,from 2000 to 2006, as at the end of each year. it is known that 200 super air-coolers were disposed off in 2002 .

Q: how many Super air-coolers were disposed off in 2004 ?

Three people check into a hotel, The room is $30.00 per night.
They each pay $10.00
The Hotel Manager finds out that the men are Vets and tells the bellboy to give them back $5.00
The bellboy can't figure out how to divide the $5.00 between the three.
The bellboy gives them each back $1.00 and keeps $2.00 for himself.
Now the total that each Vet has paid is $9.00
3X9=27
The bellboy kept $2.00
$27.00 plus $2.00=$29.00
What Happened to the dollar?
