As a college student in physics class in the 80's at a Big Ten midwestern university, I actually asked this question, out loud. Asking this in a physics class is like asking "What is the meaning of life?" in a humanities class (which I also did). Okay, so maybe I'm "weird." But, I'll bet, if you ponder over the question, you'll not come up with a satifactory answer. Creativeness in your answer will get you points, though.

I asked is there an end to the sea so somebody answered no!!! the earth is round so there is no end to the sea. can somebody tell me why is that if the earth is round there is no end to the sea. The sea is inside the earth and they say there is no end to it how is it possible...?
