Can you please tell me what an underwater is! I need it for school and it's due tomarrow!

Volcanoes that erupt underwater. Seriously.

There are many on the Mid-Atlantic Rift-- do a search and you'll find pics.

An underwater volcano is a new volcano on the ocean floor that hasn't gotten high enough yet to form an island above sea level. So, molten lava pores out of the volcano beneath the surface of the ocean. If the volcano erupts many times over a long while, the pile of volcanic rocks (hardened lava) may eventually get enough to form an island like Hawaii or Tahiti.
