This was a science type of program, maybe Horizon or a long news clip. A good few years ago but the impression has stuck. It was like an Ant coloney, with men climing wooden ladders hundreds of feet tall to earn money, per basket. Some payed diggers, others worked for diggers. Does anyone remember anything about it.

What kind of rock types are common to that area so I can narrow down my search in identifying them? I can't see any crystals in a majority. One that looks like shale has visibile crystals. The largest is either weathered or is porforitic.

**You are to pick a spot in this country where you believe you will reside as an adult(North Carolina). It can be anywhere in the U.S. As an adult, you will have a more valid opinion and be able to do more wtih your voice and abilities to correct issues of natural resources and what happens to them. In your words, based on upon your opinion(my opionion is not really coming out right now i don't even understand the assignment), and in one thousand words, yes this many, describe what your world is like. You are to include the factors of your resources and environment that are present and affecting your existence(what does this mean?) How will you deal with them, what can you do to improve it, and how can you live it or leave it for your future generations of chillin's that may be yours. Heaven help us!!!** **This is right off my assignment page!!!**

We recently built a house. The well digger hit water at 22 feet and continued until the well was 34 feet. He assured us that we would not have any water problems. Well, last week our well was so low, the pump was unable to pump water. We have had alot of rain lately so this really scares me. I was told that it is not so uncommon for a well to be bad during the first year. We did not have a written contract. I have contacted my States Attorney, he says I do not have a case to take legal action. Any suggestions out there as to what I should do. We hauled water the other day, and this is not something i want to get used to.

As far as I understand it, in the mantle there is radioactive uranium mixed in with all of the other elements that make up the liquid rock down there. When this is spewed out onto the surface the breakdown of the uranium into lead that occurs happens at a standard half life rate and from the amount of breakdown we can work out how old the rock is. I have a couple questions about the intricasies of this.
1 - I heard that radioactive breakdown occurs in the mantle and that's why it's still hot, so wouldn't the ratio of Uranium and lead in the rocks that are spewed out by volcanoes change over time?
2 - What about regional differences within the magma?
Cheers
