Hi, first of all, let me stress that this answer is needed for a novel
I am writing and will not be put to practical use ! :-) The
protagonist needs to dissolve his victim as soon as possible (bones
can be left intact, but the flesh must be removed) before the cops
locate the body. The plot dictates that this should be done within a
week if at all possible. I was toying with lime and HCL, but then
remembered that one will neutralize the other! Can you please help?
Many thanks!

My younger sister has asked for help with some chemistry homework she has been set and unfortunately I know nothing useful about The Mole. I have balanced the equations for her but that's as far as I can go without becoming totally flustered. Could someone either give a detailed method in basic basic basic terms lol on how to work out the following ... or if you're feeling ultra nice, the answers with workings out :) I shall be forever in your debt if you do.
So here goes:

1: What mass of CO2 is produced by the complete combustion of 12g of C?

2: Calculate the mass of S that must be burned to produce 64g of SO2.

3: When CaCO3 is heated it produces CaO and CO2. What mass of CO2 can be produced by heating 10g of CaCO3?

4: Mg reacts with h2SO4 to produce MgSO4 and H2. What mass of H would be produced by reacting 12g of Mg with excess H2SO4?

5: Calculate mass of C needed to reduce 15.9g of copper(II) oxide:
CuO(S) + C(s) --> Cu(s) + CO(g)

Any help greatly appreciated.

20.00cm^3 of KI solution of unknown concentration is titrated with 0.0250M KMnO4 solution in the presence of excess acid. 14.80cm^3 of the KMnO4 solution is required for complete reaction. Calculate the concentration of the KI solution.
----

My workings out so far:
n = cV

first part:
n(KMnO4) = 0.0250 x 14.80 = 0.37
c(KI) = 0.37/20 = 0.0185

The answer has to be 0.0925M
If you divide 0.37 by 4 then the answer comes out, but I'm not sure how to do it. I'd really appreciate some help!!!
