I was wondering if normal air(not oxygen enriched or anything) could be ignited and burned at some high temperature. If it can, what kind of temperatures would be required?

I could probably open one of my chemistry textbooks and find that it isn't energetically feasible or that the shape of the molecule wouldn't allow a catalyst to work. But I can't be bothered to do that because it's too late, so I'll let you nice people do it instead.

If it could be done it would be the solution to all our problems though so I guessing it can't be done.

What do you understand by the term equilibrium constant?

How can the idea of an equilibrium constant be used to compare
(i) the strength of acids
(ii) the solubilities of salts

When a mixture of 1.00 mol of ethanoic acid and 1.00 mol of ethanol is allowed to reach equilibrium at room temperature, the equilibrium mixture contains 0.67 mol of ethyl ethanoate. Calculate the equilibrium constant kc at room temperature.

Predict qualitative effect on the amount of ethyl ethanoate in the equilibrium mixture if 2.00mol of ethanol and 1.00mol of ethanoic acid were used initially.

I understand the difference between each, I just do not understand how - by looking at the given compounds - you can tell what kind of bond they are going to form. How do you know if they will transfer or share electrons?

Rigorous testing has shown that almost 80% of the people who were in the study found that the use of psilocybin was within one of the top five most spirtitual happenings in their lives. The people in the study were known to pray, attend church, etc. They all reported spriitual/mystical expereinces.

That being known, is it not entirely possible, seeing as our brains obviously have receptors for these narcotics/hallucinogens, is it not possibly that all of these spiritual/religious expereinces that people have are simply a figment of their imaginations?? Some unknown chemical bonding with that particular receptor that cause one to hallucinate seeing God?? Doesnt that seem more "real" of an explanation over some religious explanation??
