Pressure * Volume = # of moles * a constant * Temperature.

Thus, they are directly proportional. All else being equal, if one increases then the other must decrease to balance the equation.

Since the gas equation is PV= nRT,
the number of moles is inversely proportional to the absolute templerature, if P&V are constant.
R is already constant.

according to ideal gas eqn. for 1 mole
PV = RT

and for n moles

PV = nRT
therefore n = PV/(RT)
=> n is inversly proportional to T
