Answer #1 was incorrect to include Issac Newton. Newton was not a chemist. He actually believed in alchemy and that sort of nonsense. Strike Issac the Naughty Newton.

Include Avogadro, Robert Boyle, Bunsen, John Dalton, Cavendish, Berthollet, Lavoisier, Priestley, Casanerro, Mendeleev, Berzelius, Kekule, le Chatelier, Mr. and Mrs. Curie and their daughter, Irene, Ehrlich, Erlenmayer, Grignard, Haber, Hall, Lewis, Ramsey, van der Waals.

And in the 20th century among many there were Linus Pauling and Glen Seaborg,

They have some famous chemist missing and errors in Wikipedia's list. For example Margaret Thatcher, the PM of England for three terms never made any important discoveries that warrent her being included in the list of chemist. But she did get her degree as a chemist from Oxford. A minor footnote to her brilliant career in politics.
