This is, of course, one of the most played out topic in the history of human-kind.

Personally, I don't believe in it.
The idea that humans came from the same ancestors as apes and monkeys and whatnot bothers me.
You can post as many facts as you like, but faith is all I have.

I'd like to believe that there is more to life after we all die, who knows, maybe there isn't but it doesn't hurt to try.

We bought this at a farmers market but don't know what it is.

It looks like a combination between a watermelon and a pumpkin.
What is it called?

I forums I always see "evolutionists" (I pray to Darwin too) claim humans don't come from monkeys, but share a common ancestor. Can someone explain this? Because according to my knowledge we come from chimps, or at least their ancestors. As the other apes (gorillas, orang utans) are also monkeys, and split off before the chimps and humans did, it's not hard to conclude that our common ancestors were monkeys. They didn't all spit off and all accidentally became monkeys. Also according to this time line of human evolution we do come from chimps:
http://www.livescience.com/php/multimedia/imagedisplay/img_display.php?pic=060508_human_evolution_02.jpg&cap=The+timeline+of+human+evolution+is+long+and+controversial,+with+significant+gaps.+Experts+do+not+agree+on+many+of+the+start+and+end+points+of+va

So do I have a bad understanding of human evolution (please explain), or does everybody else just say the common ancestor thing not to disturb the anti-evolutionists too much?

I have to research this virus for biology class and I've been completely unable to find information about this. This is a purely scientific question, from what source does the virus get its energy?

There are lots of different types of birds, crabs, fish including many species of whales, sharks, dolphins etc.

Why arent their humans that are a bit different in the way they are eg, humans with eyes in the back of their heads, humans that eat wood, men that get pregnant, people with both types of genitals, really big supreme humans with shiny red helmets???

Natural selection seems to make more sense to me. A white mouse living in a white landscape lives to breed and black ones die out. Evolution? Why take millions of years to change from an ape to a man? Bit slow to be a successful survival tool?

What is the theory behind the development of different races? Was the "first human" dark-skinned or light-skinned?

What is the genetic background of the shift of characteristics?

(Just cold, scientific answers please: I am not asking a religious question although I respect that people have religious views and their right to hold them: please assume I already know these theories)

Because I was thinking... If you're in like, hot water, your body would be hot. And when your body is hot, it sweats to allow the moisture to catch like, coolness... But if the surface of your skin is allready wet because you're allready in water (Thats hot none-the-less) would you still sweat?
