I only know it is a method to measure the rate of photosynthesis and it is more accurate than common method of "measuring the number of bubbles evolved". So can anybody tell me what 'Leaf Flotation Technique' is?

Here's the deal. On one hand I hear that evolution is only a theory (not fact) that has absolutely no evidence to support it. I hear that it is just as much a faith and religion as any other crazy creation myth. On the other hand, I hear that almost all (if not all) evidence against evolution and for biblical creationism is either a gross misunderstanding, or a gross misinterpretation of existing facts. I also hear that evolution is virtually uncontested in the science world, and that no scientist disagrees with it.

My question is how can I, not a scientist and not connected with the scientific world in anyway, be sure who's telling the truth? I don't doubt that people on both sides say thy are telling the truth (or atleast think they are), but obviously someone is lying. How can I discover the truth?

I will also be posting this question in the Religion & Spirituality board. I think the responeces should be interesting.

How does it explain (and I mean explain, not disprove the alternative) the fact that meat eating creatures survived the first hundreds of years after the flood without eating? (because if they ate, they wouldnt let the "kinds" reproduce and repopulate the earth?. and how do you explain that, according to you, the reason "aledgedly more evolved" or more complex species fossils are found nearer the surface of the ground because they were fleeing from the flood and since they are more intelligent they made it to the high ground, but some slow dull animals like moles and insects apparently outsmarted and outrun raptors and flying species?

-Written human history does not exceed ~4-6 thousand years
-The Bible is a written account of history that is verifiable archeologically on many levels
-Carbon-14 present in coal and diamonds
-Potassium-Argon dating of objects of KNOWN dates off by hundreds of thousands and millions of years
-Dinosaur bones with soft-tissue; mummified dinosaurs
-Every major culture has a flood myth in their culture
-Living fossils have not fundamentally changed in tens of millions of years
-Cambrian Explosion contains almost every major phyla of animal, but Pre-Cambrian rocks contain no ancestors of diminishing complexity
-Not one true undisputed transitional fossil (so evolutionists label everything a transitional)
-No viable mechanism for the extremely large increase in functional genetic information as required by evolution(mutations, natural selection, polyploidy, gene duplication represent a loss, scrambling, or copying of information)
-Tightly bent rock strata and polystrate fossils

I mean, if intelligent design is true, then it doesn't seem very intelligent to make people so sensitive in non-essential parts of their body, like their teeth and under their nails...and leave vital parts like their brain without sensation. Wouldn't it be more intelligent to give us teeth like sharks, that grow after the old ones fall out, rather than giving us only two sets?

And if evolution is true, how come we still only get two sets of teeth, and painful ones at that, after all those centuries of the survival of the fittest? What on earth is the evolutionary advantage conferred by toothache? I mean I can understand why your finger feels pain--so you won't leave it in the fire or whatever. But your teeth?

Maybe they're both wrong--the theists and the evolutionists-- and it was aliens who started the whole thing (ones with a perverted sense of humor perhaps...)

I work at a gene splicing/cloning lab, and my friend brought in some amber with some prehistoric animal hide in it. As a joke, we had been messing around with it after hours. Anyways, where would be a good place to hide a 2 story Tyrannosaurus Rex for a couple of weeks when my boss gets back from vacation?
