While listening to an aeronautical program the host began to explain composites. You know, "What are composites?", "What is an example of a composite?" ... etc. ... Then she began to name examples of composites. I next overheard her say that a perfect example of a composite is a tree. She went on to explain that trees are made up of cellulose and (missed this because of brushing my teeth) ... Sounded like it started with an "L". Could it have been "Lignin"... I know it is geeky question based on watching a geeky show... But... at the time I was too busy getting my day going and (coincidentally) surfing ebay for a new carbon composite bicycle to actually grab the remote and turn the channel. Weird the way this composite stuff weaves its way into my life!

I was fiddling with my belly button the other day and picked some bits out thinking I was giving it a good clean (not that I'm particularly dirty or indeed that they were any particularly big bits to speak of) but now I find it is secreting moisture, not blood or puss of anything too yucky. If left to dry it goes crispy. This got me thinking - where is the moisture coming from? is it intercellular fluid, or part of my lymph fluid or something else? what is behind my belly button? what is at the bottom of it (as it funnels in but I can't see the bottom of where the skin joins if indeed it does)? Any information would be greatly received

Just been looking an an now closed qeastion, am I right in saying that Dinosaurs, (so it is said) evolved in to birds becouse, they needed to adapt, to the changed conditions after the astroiod hit the earth?.

However as I have always understood Darwin , evolution takes millions of years, so if the earth was no longer inhabitable , for some spicies, why did they not just die out?.

If for an example the earth today was flooded, would it not take millions of years for us to grow finns?, "How would we surrvive in the meantime?.
