Do you believe in any religious thinking?
Buddhist: "Stop killing life"
Christian: "It's against God will! It's sinful!"
If not, i don't think GM is wrong in scientific point of view. It's good. Enhance life expectancy.
"Super Rice!" Better farm yield. Better food.
And GM could cure some genetic diseases such as down's symdrone, and other X-linked diseases.
however they could be side effects which no published paper had proven yet. Such as Cancer probability increase. etc.

Genetic engineering is a method of rapidly achieving what could otherwise be done over the course of decades with selective breeding.
It leads to higher yields of crops and holds the promise of ending famine in areas where crops can be altered to have resistance to local influences.
There is a large and ever-expanding set of rules and organisations set up precisely to prevent GM crops from eradicating 'vanilla' crops, but this is largely an emergency stand-by meant to appease people who still think that we're putting octopus genes in cabbages.

The long term effects of the modification on the environment and on humans are unknown. It is believed that certain modified crops are safe but that is only based on short term trials. It has been shown that there is cross polination with wild varieties of plants which are deemed to be weeds which then themselves gain the qualities of the GM crop thus often invalidating their purpose.
Overall it is too early to say and long term studies are needed.

Not all together wrong. What worries me is that so called scientists recommend leaving three meters between crops for safety! Sorry to argue with them but birds carry seeds for hundreds of miles. Not to mention the wind, beetles etc. There is certainly a danger with GM. Our environment has taken millions of years to establish a natural balance and we should tread with great caution when altering anything, regardless of how small.

Nope, speeds up evolution. I'm waiting for the accidental release of a GM insect that will kill us all.

Like anything in this world, it has the potential to go hooribly wrong. but that shouldn't stop us from studying the potential uses. Everything we do holds some amount of calculated risk, this just means we need to be careful of what we do.

I think that it is wrong. A bunch of scientists playing God. Their experiment is going to bite them in the *** at night. You just wait and see.
