Three bees flew into my jar of honey this morning after breakfast. I gently removed them with a spoon and put the lid back on the honey, with the knowledge that I'd probably forget the bees had been there, and that tomorrow morning I'd probably dip into the same jar of honey for my breakfast. Here's the thing: if three houseflies or three cockroaches, silverfish, or spiders (I think) - or even one - had gotten in there, I'd've been grossed out & would probably have thrown the honey out. Is this preference for bees - and ants, sometimes - this notion that they're "clean" completely irrational? (I know that bees produce honey, of course, but it would be the same if a bee dropped into a glass of milk; I wouldn't mind that much, & would probably take reasonable care to get it out without harming it. So it's not just the connection to honey that underlies the difference in the way I react to these little beasties.)

There are placental, marsupial, and what other category of mammal? The platypus is one, and there is another animal--but we can't think of it right now. Does anyone know which other animal besides the platypus belongs in that category--and can you name that category? We can't remember either of those answers.

Why can't we remember when we were young? I mean we had a brain then, but we can't remember. It's like a quarter of my life I can't remember. It's just wierd. why is this?

My husband and I are really compatible. So I was really thrown when a doctor-friend claimed that physical sex (the act performed with a partner) could never be as good as brain sex (daydreams/wetdreams). I know he has a great relationship with his wife, as well. He made this claim based on medical experience/education. Where is he coming from? Or am I the only one left out here?

We went out four wheeling the afternoon a Hurricane was leaving town in 2005 and ended up about 1/2 a mile from the mouth of the Rio Grande River on Boca Chica Beach where the river dumps into the Gulf of Mexico. Because of the storm surge many of the larger sand dunes had been washed away exposing quite a few items. This bone was at the center of the base of one of these washed away dunes.
The sand color was very dark helping to confirm that it was under a large dune as most of the sand there is generally white. Also since we are regular visitors out there we knew of this particular sand dune because it was one of our sons favorites to jump off of while we surf fish. Thats also why we know it was approx 30 feet high. Thanks for your future responses.

He asked "what's wrong with this theory?" (see below) -- and we can take it a few ways. Charitably-- one would hope!-- he wants us to tell him how wrong it is, but he posts it in the philosophy section and I don't remember 10th grade biology at all.

This is the "theory" -- which is a joke

That's the actual question.

Go ahead and respond to his question,
I don't care about an answer, here, to be honest.

I'm talking about a fast acting plague. Think Stephen King's the Stand, or that book we all read in High School, Earth Abides. It seems to me when civiliation gets overpopulated, a disease wipes out a lot of people. I.E. The Bubonic Plague in the middle ages. What do ya think on this?

I know that the earliest form of evolution of humans have begun around 5 million years ago. But when early humans evolve, the early human species are extinct. They evolve into humans(which is us). And humans, which is called homo sapiens are the only one human species that are currently here, and all other human species go extinct.

Here is my question.......
In 1,000,000 years from now, will the current human species(us) still exist while there are any other more advanced forms of human species?

I am very curious of what humanity would be like in 1,000,000 A.D.
If at the futuristic time, I wonder if there could be any non-human species that could be more intelligent than us.
