I am very ticklish but I do not believe that skin sensitivity is necessarily the issue.

I have met people who are not ticklish but also have a low pain tolerance to when it comes to burns (i.e. burned by a match or candle wax accidentally).

I do believe that skin pigmentation does play a factor overall (Albinos are the most ticklish, Redheads are the second most ticklish, Blondes are the third most ticklish and brunettes are the least ticklish) but having said that, I have met some exceptionally ticklish brunettes, blondes and redheads who are incredibly ticklish. I have met others who either were not ticklish or had learned ho to control it.

I, myself, have black hair and I am very ticklish.

I was ticklish when I was young, but then, the more my older brother tried to torment me by tickling me, the less ticklish I became. I think it was a defense mechanism in me. Now I'm only ticklish on my neck.
