My husband and I are really compatible. So I was really thrown when a doctor-friend claimed that physical sex (the act performed with a partner) could never be as good as brain sex (daydreams/wetdreams). I know he has a great relationship with his wife, as well. He made this claim based on medical experience/education. Where is he coming from? Or am I the only one left out here?

I assume he is practicing what is called Lucid Dreaming. I too use this dreaming technique that basically lets you fully control your dreams, but not entirely for sexual purposes. Although you can do things in your lucid dreams that you probably will never get to do (sex with Winona Ryder for example) I disagree with your friend that this type of sexual experience is better than actual sex in the real world.

When I say that I am not talking about a wild one night stand but sex with someone you have an emotional bond with. The act itself, at least to me, is a small part of the experience. Good sex is about each person taking care of each other, not fulfillment of personal fantasies. The best sex I have ever had has been with women I have this connection with. My desire to please them is what brings me pleasure.

Your friend is wrong in my opinion.

It is true that the brain is the biggest and most important sexual organ we have, but I tend to disagree with the idea that brain sex is better than physical sex. The brain and the body are clearly connected.

The best sex that I have ever had happens when I am totally comitted emotionally to someone (my wife) and we are close both physically and emotionally. I don't buy the argument that simply daydreaming about her would be as good! The argument seems wierd to me.

Just think about it for a minute... Have you ever been able to have sex with anyone you wanted without disease, attachment, gravity? Well I have, but only while daydreaming. There is nothing holding back your imagination, not even the laws of physics. Think about not even having to be you. You can be anyone you like or look like you wish you did. You can instantly be anywhere you want or do anything you want without fear of consequence.

Male sex :p women human beings declare that they have got extra ideal sex, yet to hearken to them ***** about it, they could under no circumstances attain orgasm except each and every thing is spectacular (or they're dishonest on a guy, which a minimum of 33% of married women each and every man or woman is. look it up) men on the different hand could have purely regularly happening ho-hum sex, or combine it with own thoughts to have oh hell yeah sex, and make it artwork almost each and every of the time.

Well, that probably depends on how vivid your imagination is. But one difference between the two in the brain's favor is that the brain can imagine that any and every part of sex stimulates pleasurable nerve ends, while in reality our mouths (for example) really don't respond quite like our genitals alone. Also, so-called 'brain sex' requires no exersion whatsoever.

However, I don't necessarily buy that all of that means its overall better. *shrugs*

I haven't a clue either. Maybe the factor that you kinda and don't have control of your dreams. That total relaxed feeling that you sometimes don't get during physical sex.
I love my physical sex too.

Whaaaaaa???? I bet that his wife feels like leftovers. Thinking like that might be the reason why he has to daydream about sex all of the time. I sure wouldn't put out if my hubby was saying crazy crap like that!

The beginning attraction begins in the center of your mind. Amplifying that attraction gives all the electrolytes and hormones.

When we are ignorant of the actual act we can explore with our fantasies all the oral, anal, costumed, transgendered, infidelity and natural coitus. But when we get there with a steadfast partner... it gets rather routine.
