How can some one see space objects which are millions of light years away? As I know, to see an object, we usually send light waves and capture the reflected ones back.

From what I've read, in its natural life time our sun will turn into a Red Giant and then shrink up into a white dwarf. There is not enough mass for it to collapse into a blackhole. However, I was wondering if there were certain circumstances that could trigger our sun into becoming a blackhole, no matter how unconventional or unlikely the means may be? This question is just in fun.

I do understand(somewhat) Einstein's Theory of Relativity. However, what is time? The real question I'm getting at here is: Is time travel possible? If so, then why/how/how is "time" being manipulated to do this? Please, only give real, meaningful answers.
