I watched a show on the History Channel the other day, and it said that in 2012 God will destroy the earth with a Comet.

Do you all believe this?

Because Scientists have estimated that the nearest asteroid from earth is at least 30 years away.

And would we feel any pain if it hit?

I know, I know, another one of these dumb questions.

But seriously, not like a small little living bacteria or anything. Is there anything out there like on mars or any other planet that has a living life form as intellegent or even more that us? That would be pretty cool.

If it were possible for an object to reach absolute zero, would it continue to exist?

ok, so we're all familiar with the theoretical temperature of absolute zero.

at −459.67°F there is a complete absence of movement among particles.

taking this concept into the quantum world becomes a very interesting thing to ponder. if there is no kinetic energy at the sub atomic level wouldn't the science of quantum probability fall apart? if there was zero probability wouldn't that actually erase matter?

i don't know, think about it

In the DS9 episode, "By Inferno's Light", Jadzia said that going to warp inside a solar system is a bad idea, however Kira did it anyway to stop Changeling Bashir from destroying Bajor and everything else around it.

In Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the Klingon Bird of Prey that Kirk and crew were on appeared to go into warp not only in the solar system, but inside the atmosphere of Earth altogether when they received the whale beacon signals near the end of the movie.

So which is right? And why is it a bad procedure to perform anyway?

Lets say you just take away time from something, whats happening then ? is there still a reality ? what do you think ?

Or imagine you take away space instead ?
Will there be reality with no space ?

I just tried to imagine that for a single particle in the universe with nothing else in, but i can't really figure.
any idea ?

The other day, I was sitting outside of my house on the porch around 10 pm. I was looking up and the night sky was very clear so the stars were very visible. Minutes passed and I noticed something fly across the sky at a rapid speed (hehe I thought it was a shooting star so I wished for something) and after about 2 minutes another thing passed across the sky and slowly vanished. Now, I’m not even certain if shooting stars exist but I know that it’s not an actual star firing across =)
Are they just asteroids or meteoroids that sometimes fly across the night sky?
Do you science people have any knowledge on what these “things” are that sometimes people observe flying across the sky and could they be of any danger to us?

Thanks for your answer =)
