Maybe a stupid question, but.... If there is nothing in space, (you can be right next to a large explosion and not get hurt unless debris actually hits you) then how come it takes so long to travel in space as opposed to instantaneously (if there is nothing seperating point A and point B)? There has to be something there, right? Thanks for your help!

in an early question i tried to put forth info verifying aliens. some said they wanted more info. The direct agency in charge of this cover up is the NSA. This is because of its interaction with extra-terrestrial species and its twisted view that the people are children and cannot handle the truth.
There is currently an internal war raging in the global intelligence community regarding the alien agenda. This is between negative and positive factions. From my understanding one of the main negative factions is a group centred around MI6 and the CIA called ‘Aquarius‘. This group is covering up the truth, blatantly lying and discrediting or murdering anyone who gets too close to exposing what is going on. There is also a positive group centred around naval intelligence called ’Comm 12’ which is leaking accurate information regarding the alien agenda into the public arena.
The grey and reptilian aliens working together with the military in the underground bases is called MIEC (military

When astronomes are talking about the universe that expands, exactly what is expanding then ? Is it the space that is expanding ? do they mean that as matter / energy travels through empty space this fill the empty space and this is what is called the expanding ?

I had the idea that it was space that is expanding, just plain empty space. but when i read this :

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmJ6fC0JHEotKoe0uozPmSMjzKIX?qid=20060815214242AAr3NuL

i have the impresssion that it is not because there is an infinite vacuum that is not expanding, and it are the traveling particles that is called the expanding.

So what is it expanding, what expands ?

The discovery of the James Van Allen Radiation Belts by Dr.James Van Allen in 1958, explained that there exists several intense bands of cosmic radiation which are doughnut shaped that encircle the earth. How did our Apollo astronauts make it through these bands without proper shielding, and once through, survive exposure on the moon's surface; especially during the solar maximums in which extreme solar flaring was occuring? How much shielding and what type of shielding would be neccesary to protect the astronauts? How long would it take to travel through these belts and the exposure rates that would accompany each mission to and from the moon?

Hello everyone,

I saw a flyer in a recent discount store for telescopes (National Geographic 565x magnification), and I'm wondering whether or not I should make the purchase for $50.00 CAD. I know it wouldn't be showing me much, but would this be a step in the right or wrong direction? How much magnification is 565x, in terms of what I'll be able to see?

Thank you,

Av
