Even if we travel at about the speed of light it will still take 4 years to get to a closest star. Will humans ever travel past the solar system and come back to tell about it?

The image we have is of stars existing in great galaxies, but there being vast tracts of empty space between the galaxies.
But I wonder whether any stars have ever broken free of their galaxies and are wondering freely through space billions of light years away.

Equally could a planet have broken free of a star, and float throught space frozen solid light years from the nearest star.

This is really puzzling me. So I thought that after the summer solstice the sunrise and sunset move toward each other and make the day shorter. And then after the winter solstice they move away from each other (sunrise earlier, sunset later) to make the day longer. This makes sense with the tilt of the earth and all.

Looking at the actual times, it seems that there are 2 weeks after the winter solstice at the end of December where:

1. The sunrise continues to get later
2. The sunset also gets later (and faster, lengthening the day

Why is this?

Technically, if the universe is expanding it means that there is a line where the universe as we know it ends and from there it continually expands. I wonder what the area beyond where the universe expands is all about.

No joke here, really!

I have this theory thats theres worm holes at all the adges of the universe so that the universe SEEMS neverending, but it isn't really, you just always turn up back at thebeggining!

Though this dosn't fit in with anything, even the big bang now that you think about it but oh well! The real question is, what do you think of this and do you have any conspiracies of your own?
