It lands like an airplane touching down on a runway. Go to http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html and scrool down to "touchdown!" to watch video of a space shuttle landing.

It lands just like any big air plane but always deploys para-suite for safe quick stop.

It lines up the run way, does not circle the run way like most air plains (ie comes in straight). Speed at landing is much faster about 250 knots. 747 comes in at 160 knots and 737 at 140 knots
