i read somwehere that the stars we see are actually ver old, since it takes their light millions of years to reach us. i'm so confused!! help!

OK so lets say the universe is expanding forever. It reaches a point where everything that exists is really really small particals of mater that no longer come into contact with each other physicaly. Would these objects keep on spreading farther apart or would for some reason unknown to me start to come back together? If they keep expanding away from each other is it possible that they would reach a point where they would become unstable and break apart/explode like the big bang only smaller then the one before it?

I understand it's because life on Earth is based on water and we know how that works to a certain extent but no one ever seems to mention the possibility of alien beings being formed of some other chemical substance. Are there any substances that would be a good base chemical for a living being and has anyone ever investigated this?

What do we mean by inflation?

A - what happened the instant after the Big Bang

B - the sudden release of photons when a particle and antiparticle annihilate each other

C - a sudden expansion of the universe after the strong force froze out from the GUT force

D -the separation that occurs after two photons collide and create a particle and an antiparticle

E - the expansion of the universe that we still observe today

This was given to me in a dream, I have futuristic dreams and this was to me by a Dr., He said it was an Imprintation of an Event IN Time, and used to record Energy left over by historical events.
NO I am not on drugs, I am quite normal, but I thought this dream was cool, and it could be possible?? Your thoughts?? Don't worry I can stand ridiculious opinions.
