Billions(possibly trillion or more) of stars multiplied by say 8 (if they all have an average planet number like ours) so lots and lots

(not that anyone has even a rough estimate of the number of planets in the solar system)

As of November 11, 2006, there were 8 planets in our solar system and 209 outside our solar system, so 217 planets known to date.

That is a question that can be answered with an equation. Go to the JPL internet site to get the equation. Oh, that equation is for this galaxy only, times the answer by the billions and billions of galaxies in the universe and you can get close....

That is a moving target. They cant seem to make up their minds one what constitutes a "Planet." They have temporarily removed Pluto from the "planet" list, but that may change.

No one knows how many planets there are in the whole universe. We can't even comprehend the size of the universe let alone how many planets there are in it. i would probably say more then there are starts in our galaxy.

No one knows. No one knows how many are in this section of this galaxy, much less how many might be in the rest of the galaxy. Plus there are thousands of galaxies with hundreds of thousands of stars each.
