Since today seems to be the day for asking about extraterrestrial life, I thought I'd see what everyone thought about the Drake Equation. Basically this equation allows us to predict how many "intelligent" and communicative species there are in space.
it is :

N x R* x Fp x Ne x Fl x Fi x Fc x L.

where N is the number of civilizations in our galaxy able to communicate

R* is the rate of star formation in our galaxy
Fp is the fraction of those stars with planets
Ne is average number of planets per system can support life
Fl is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life
Fi is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life
Fc is the fraction of the above that are willing and able to communicate
L is the expected lifetime of such a civilization.

Answer the following question and explain your reasoning..

A network of fine capillaries connects the arteries and the veins. The blood flows from the heart through large arteries, which subdivide and deliver blood to the capillary system. Each capillary is very small, about 10-6 m in radius, but there are so many of them that the total cross-section area through which the blood passes is about 0.2 m2 for the entire capillary system. This total area for the capillaries is greater than the cross-
section of a single vessel (such as the aorta) through which all blood flows. The average speed the blood moves through a capillary is

a) faster than through the aorta.
b) slower than through the aorta.
c) the same speed as through the aorta.
c) any of these, depending upon the length of the aorta.
d) none of these

the height, width, and length of a rectangular prism are in the ratio 1:2:4. if the surface area of the prism is 17,500cm^2, write an equation to model the problem and find the dimensions (height, width, and length) of the prism.

if you know the answer, plz tell me how you got it..like the formulas and stuff. thx!

LDL density is anywhere from 1.01 to 1.05 g/cm^3, HDL density is anywhere from 1.08 g/cm^3 to 1.21 g/cm^3, so why is body fat usually listed as somewhere between .90 and .92 g/cm^3?
