(2x-8) (3x+2)

why?

i looked for factors of 6 and -16

6 = (2) (3) (first term of two binomials)
-16= (-8) (2) (second terms of binomials)

there are a lot of factors but why i chose these?

we have to consider middle term which is -20...

middle term is the sum of the product of inner terms and outer terms...

inner terms are -3x and 8
outer terms are 2x and 2

(-3x)(8) + (2x)(2) = -24x+4x= -20x (middle term)

hope that this will help you...
