A thrown object (a galaxy, for instance) at the edge of the universe (ie, without anything in front of it to pull it) should not accelerate. Shouldn't the huge mass behind it (mass closer to the center of the Big Bang) slow it down with gravity? Is it the expansion of the universe itself that is creating distance/speed/acceleration?

I have to write up a lab report after doing an experiment to determine the density of a common object (I chose a book). Now I need help finding the density. We know D=m/v and the book weighs 4 lbs. Its length is 10inches and width is 8 inches. Now using this information how would I find the mass and volume?
I also have to put the results into a chart, graph, or table but I don’t know how I would prepare that so any suggestions? Thanks.

The boiling point of water is lower when atmospheric pressure decreases. Theoretically, then, you could attach a suction pump to a pot and suck out the air above the water level, and the water would come to a boil faster, thereby saving energy. Do you see anything wrong with this argument?

Tamil spoken in Madurai, Tanjavore is different to what people in Madras City suburbs speak. Southern Keralites'accent is different from people in Palghat area. Telugu, Urdu is mixed in the Kannada when people from Old Hyderabad State districts like Gulbarga, Bidar and Gangavati speak. Still all these linguistic based states never fight among themselves nor demand for division of their states. It is true that AP has different dialects still all speak, read and write the same Telugu which Aadikavi Nannayya used to translate epic mythology like Mahabharata into Telugu. Unity is always strength what ever may be the field. I live far away on the other side globe it doesn’t matter to me much whether AP is divided into two or more. When Potti Sree Ramulu sacrificed his life for the demand of linguistic based states whole country appreciated Telugus. Every Tom D & Harry go to Hyderabad and speak about dividing the state.I wishTelugu brothers and sisters to be unite and strong as they are now

Don't we have a responsibility to use this money on our living citizens here on earth to help them when they obviously need it? I can understand using money to research equipment capable of leaving our galaxy and going far beyond Pluto, which is obviously another place that is uninhabitable. Are we doing these mars/moon expeditions simply to satisfy our need to keep up with other countries' space programs? It seems a far cry that we are preparing/assessing the feasibility to use these places for our own inhabitance in future years. Even if we were, again isn't it our moral obligation to help those that need the help now here on earth? Any thoughts?
