They are not eggs. They're called ovum (plural: ova).

People always say "the sperm fertilizes the egg," but they're wrong. We are not reptiles nor birds. Mammals do not produce eggs (with the exception of monotremes). HUMANS DO NOT PRODUCE EGGS. Why do so many people say women produce eggs?
