They are not eggs. They're called ovum (plural: ova).
People always say "the sperm fertilizes the egg," but they're wrong. We are not reptiles nor birds. Mammals do not produce eggs (with the exception of monotremes). HUMANS DO NOT PRODUCE EGGS. Why do so many people say women produce eggs?

it doesn't make sense to call them eggs because eggs are eggs before conception and after conception.
Human ova are ova before conception and zygote after conception.

In most birds and reptiles, an egg (Latin ovum) is the zygote, resulting from fertilization of the ovum.
The fertilization of a human ovum is called a zygote, not an egg.

Creationist? Find the definition of creationist and use it in a proper scenario. Bigot? Read what I previously wrote.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Creationist bigot... seriously. If I wanted stupid answers I would have asked for them.

ag_iitkgp probably is going around the religion & spirituality section and badmouthing all kinds of religious people. THERE IS NO MENTION OF RELIGION OR CREATIONISM ON THIS QUESTION.
I am stunned at the stupidity of that answer. I've seen some stupid answers before, but that one tops the list.

In everyday English, ova just means eggs. And most people aren't biologists so they don't use terms like ova. When they say eggs, just take it to mean ova. And calm down, it's only a three-letter word!

Mamals do produce eggs, but the eggs stay internal to the body and we give birth to the formed infant. In reptile the egg is passed externally and the infant forms inside the egg externally.
If you want to be pedantic you can call them "ova" which is just latin for egg anyway.

That's there technical term for what's produced by the ovaries. This is what is referred to as eggs from chickens, turkeys, ducks also. The eggs you eat are unfertilized as well. Humans do not lay eggs and these eggs don't have shells but they are still eggs.

in a sense, they are human eggs. It is a concept that people can understand; ova is just a strange word that may mean nothing to many
