What are your predictions for life a 1000 years into the future? Will we be driving cars? Or using desktop computers? What will work be like? Will space travel still be difficult? Will humans have colonized the nearby planets? What about the stars?

Speculative fiction writers have long envisioned the potential of freezing people for long, dangerous space journeys to other worlds (both within our solar system and beyond). While the technology does not currently exist to freeze and thaw people properly, does the potential for such technology warrant a renewed look by private industry and by government researchers? Note naturally that nature provides for some animals to survive in subzero temperatures by freezing solid and thawing (including some frog species). Note also that the damage done is not from "cells exploding" as sometimes mischaracterized by opponents of cryonics, as vitrificiation and precludes this.

I have to write a research paper arguing a standpoint regarding the cultural variation in the emergence of mathematical notation. This is for an education cirriculum class (regarding a 6th grade math standard). But the argument can be about anything, doesn't necessarily have to relate to math in education. Math is my worst subject and I'm having a terrible time with this. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I came to the answer that the sum is equal to 2^n * (n+2) C 2.

However, I am clueless on how to prove this.

p.s. "C" means choose (combination)
