hello, how r u guys?? oh plz i need help in a physics question i really tried alot and alot to do it but it didn't work with me. here is the question:
The mass of a full bottle of cooking oil is 1.3 kg.
when excatly half of the oil has been used, the mass of the bottle plus the remaining oil is 0.9 kg.
what is the mass of the bottle?
plz show ur work .. i really need help:(

ok .. we have 1.3 total this includes the bottle , now we have 0.9 left and we know what has disapeared is 0.4 this is only oil so the total of oil would be 0.8 now we know what is left is the bottles weight 0.5 ........

This really isnt a physics question, its more of a logic question. Think of it this way:

Full Bottle: O + B = 1.3 Kg

Half Bottle: 1/2 O + B = 0.9 Kg

This is a system of 2 equations, and if you add 0.4 Kg to both sides of the equation on the right, you get:

1/2 O + B + 0.4 Kg = 1.3 Kg

Now, noth equations are equal to 1.3 Kg, so set them equal in an equation:

1/2 O + B + 0.4 Kg = O + B

Subtract B from each side, and 1/2 O from both sides, and you have a value of

0.4 Kg = 1/2 O solving for O, O = 0.8 Kg.

Now plug in 0.8 Kg back into the original equation:

0.8 Kg + B = 1.3 Kg and you get B = 0.5 Kg
